Electrotherm has designed Continuous Induction Furnace for melting 100% DRI (Direct Reduced Iron). It has overall heat transfer efficiency of more than 85%. Lime and dolomites are added for dephosphorization. Inductor lining life is more than 45 days. Carbon Monoxide and volatiles evolved are post combusted using air to preheat the charge. Scrap can also be preheated by oil fired burners. High electrical load factor and preheating of scrap results in productivity of up to 70T/Day/MW. CONT-I-FUR is especially suitable for units generating their own power.
